On the Table: The Intensive (residency)

A week-long immersive cycle taking place in Spain, on the Costa Brava (Baix Empordà) conceived not as an artistic residency, but as a concentrated look behind the scenes of your own practice.

The program combines daily On the Table sessions in English with a series of cultural visits, studio encounters and exchanges designed to strengthen how you work, articulate your practice, and move it forward in a more professional and intentional way. Think of it as stepping into the backstage of your practice: the part that rarely gets dedicated time : the framing, the positioning, the structure, the thinking that holds the work together.

It offers a focused environment to step out of the everyday, gain perspective, and come away with concrete tools to develop your practice in a more articulated and sustainable way.

The region, long a source of inspiration for artists such as Dalí, offers a rich natural landscape and cultural context that supports reflection and serious engagement.

This program is not a residency as such, and deliberately so. Artists should ideally be supported to participate in residencies, rather than paying simply for access to time and space. This intensive cycle is instead a professional deep dive: an immersive working environment that combines guidance, peer exchange, reflection and practice development within a small and carefully composed group.

(That said, "residency" is the word that kept coming up when describing it and perhaps that says something about how few formats exist for this kind of focused, immersive work. So if that's what you call it when you tell people about it, we understand.)

Participants will be hosted at Brava Arts, a ten-minute walk from the On the Table studio.
